Q:How much can I claim from my car insurance company and what if they give me a set amount to purchase the car from me?
الجواب حامدا ومصليه ومنه الصدق والصواب
A: If the insurance company purchases the car from the policy holder at a price of £3000 the policyholder may accept the whole £3000 as payment for his car. If the policy holder receives payment for damages to his car he should only accept up to the value of premiums paid to date to that particular insurance company. If he receives more than his premiums paid he may return it to the insurance company as payment for future premiums.
However, if a proper Halal alternative insurance is available he must adopt that.
