Q: If the natural father no longer lives with or has access to his children, is inheritance still due to his children?
الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما ومنه الصدق والصواب
A: If the natural farther no longer lives with or has access to his children, inheritance is still due to his children. Entitlement to inheritance is a right that is secured through the existence of a specific relationship with the deceased. Once a person dies, he/she has no right beyond the discretionary 1/3, and the balance is proportionally assigned to the heirs according to Islamic law.
