Q: How can I make up for Zakah I didn’t realized I had to pay?
My assets have been eligible for Zakah since I joined full time employment and I have been paying Zakah since then; however I have only just realised that I should have also being paying Zakah on my pension, but have not done so. Am I required to ‘back pay’ the amount of zakah I would have paid on my pension, and if so, is there a preferred way of doing this?

A: If zakah was payable on your pension then you must pay it as soon as possible for the years missed. There is no specific preferred way of paying such zakah other than as soon as possible and to the most needy.
