A: Hypnosis as described in the question is a value neutral tool that can be used both positively and negatively. If the hypnosis does not involve any impermissible activity and is used to achieve a permissible end it is permissible, but if it includes impermissible elements or is used to achieve impermissible ends then it is impermissible.
