Q: Can getting paid a salary when working for a hospice be halal ? The reception job I wish to apply is a registered charity in England funded by private companies and private sponsors but some of it comes from the cove Macmillan cancer centre, volunteers fundraising campaigns, marathons, tea parties, second hand charity shops , death will donations, patient donations and from some hospitals,and lottery funding too. the salary paid which comes from these sources are they allowed as halal earning.

A: The role of hospice receptionist, as described does, not appear to conflict with sharia. Similarly, [at least] the majority of the funding also appears to be from permissible sources. Hence, it will be permissible to receive a salary for performing such role.
