Paying someone to get results of fixed matches and then betting accordingly

Q: My spouse has been gambling for 3 years. Over these years the family has  been through hell. As a result of his gambling he has lost over half a million pounds. All his hard work has been wasted. He still has an  outstanding debt of 15 thousand pounds to pay. The family is just  surviving but cannot afford to pay off this debt. Based on the above information i have the following question: Can i use gambling to get all the money back?

I came across one person on the Internet who told me about paying money to get the results of fixed matches. The bookies have got half a million pounds of our money, can i use these other means to get the money back?

الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما ومنه الصدق والصواب

A: Gambling is a major sin. Islam has prohibited gambling as it creates enmity and takes the wealth of another unlawfully. The situation you currently find yourself in, as stated by you, is due to gambling. Therefore, you should not consider the remedy to be gambling too. Furthermore, you cannot cheat others through gambling, and that also through fixed matches, to pay off the unlawful debt of your spouse. This simply compounds the sin and is illegal as well.

PS You may wish to seek assistance from the relevant bodies (i.e. National Debt Line) for the repayment of your debts. You may also be eligible to receive zakat in order to meet the basic needs of you and your family. Please contact the National Zakat Foundation (NZF) for further information.
