A: Children that are from two separate marriages inherit from their natural parent as normal. Marriage has no bearing on the eligibility of a child to inherit from his/her natural parent. A child does not inherit from the step-parent. Equally, an adopted child also does not inherit from the adopting parent/s. However, the step parent/adopting parent/s may include the step/adopted child in a bequest from the discretionary 1/3.
