Q: Can I accept a marriage proposal from an investment banker?

A: There is no sin in the marriage itself. However, if the marriage does go ahead then he will remain obligated to provide your maintenance via halal means and you should continue to encourage and urge him to do so. If he persists with his unlawful employment and it is possible for you to maintain yourself from other halal means then you must do so. If it is not possible to do so, then it will be permissible for you to maintain yourself through his unlawful earning and the sin will fall upon him.
